- W3165604072 abstract "Hadith means saying. Technically it refers to the sayings of the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم). To know hadith is necessary to know what the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) spoke himself, what he did himself, what was his reaction when someone else did anything in his view or sacred presence. Thus hadith is the record of the life behaviour of the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) in his words (aqwal/اقوال), actions (af`al/افعال) and tacit approvals of what others did and he did not criticise (taqarir/تقاریر). How this came down to generation after generation requires knowing of many things. What, when, where, who, whom, why and other interrogatory words are not mere artistic articles of a language. Those are with purpose. The purpose is to get satisfactory answers. This satisfaction is of the heart and mind and needs to be just and reasonable at all stages by the best accepted standards. Iman is to believe in Allah as He is with His Names and to accept all his Injunctions. Injunctions include both commandments (awamir/اوامر) and prohibitions (Nawahi/نواھی ) i.e., dos and don’ts. Islam is to express sincere surrender and submissiveness before Allah. What Allah said is there in the form of the Holy Qur’an (Kitabullah). This is the Last Message of Allah to whole mankind. What the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) said is there in the form of words and conduct (Ahadith and Sunnah Rasulullah). This is the last practical demonstration of acting upon the Holy Qur’an which is the excellent model to lead the desired life that will bring success in both the worlds. In this paper an attempt has been made to explain one of the manners by which the Ahadith of the Messenger of Allah (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) were borne, carried and learnt and further conveyed or transmitted. This is called al-Sama`ah/السماعۃ." @default.
