A fractional-order proportional-integral-derivative (FOPID) based modified Incremental Conductance (INC) maximum power point tracking (MPPT) controller is proposed for DFIG based wind turbine (WT) system. The simulation of the proposed MPPT controller for DFIG based wind turbine system has been carried out in MATLABTM/SIMULINK with buck converter and resistive load for varying wind speed conditions. The FOMCON toolbox with the Nedler-Mead optimisation algorithm is used to design an optimised Fractional order controller. Simulation results of the suggested controller are compared with conventional Perturb and Observe (P&O), INC, INC with integral action (INC-Integral) MPPT methods. The simulation results show that the proposed INC-FOPID MPP tracking controller is more efficient and produces more output power as compared to other MPPT techniques." @default.
