- W3166407788 abstract "Biogenic synthesis using plant extracts has paved the way for eco-friendly production of nanomaterials (NMs). This method is cost-effective, provides good yield with nontoxic by-products, while constraining the size of particles to the nanoscale regime. Further, the plant phytochemicals used during the biogenic process act as reducing, capping, and structure-directing agents, thereby limiting the use of toxic chemicals. Application-oriented morphological construction of NMs and time-efficient synthesis are some of the value-added properties possessed by this method. Recently, a wide range of NMs has been synthesized and reported in the literature, among which silver-zinc oxide (Ag-ZnO) nanocomposites (NCs) are the materials of high interest. This is because Ag-ZnO NCs can be employed in biomedical as well as industrial applications. With regard to these facts, this book chapter allows the reader to gain insight into the procedure of Ag-ZnO NC synthesis using plant extracts, the various methods of its characterization with the relevant formulae, their formation mechanism, and their major areas of application." @default.
