- W3169229503 abstract "The global disruption of business operations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and social and professional restrictions, impacted all spheres of life, including social, political, psychological, economic and others. According to existing literature, tourism-related industries suffered huge losses during and after national lockdowns and are struggling to transform their business operations for the post pandemic era. This research aims to contribute to reduce the knowledge gap on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the tourism-related industries, especially when investigating its impact on business transformation. A qualitative literature review was performed in order to gather and analyze scientific publications reporting on business models and case studies in the context of tourism-related industries as well as to explore in-depth these articles in relation to drivers and technologies of transformation. Based on the results of the conducted research rethinking of business models encompasses building operations around social changes, consumers and organizational factors, while relying on innovative, mobile and social media related technologies. Resilience and sustainability confirmed to be important response mechanisms for business transformations in tourism-related industries." @default.
