- W3169492885 abstract "Cerebral palsy (CP) is a common cause of motor disabilities and is associated with perinatal damage secondary to intrauterine infections, perinatal asphyxia, intrauterine hemorrhage, and brain stroke. However, the insult intensity does not correlate with CP development. In the clinic, some patients who suffer severe insult only develop attention and memory alteration or intellectual disabilities, and some other patients with mild insult antecedents develop CP; in these cases, both kinds of patients are resistant or susceptible to the insult grade. However, when the individual’s genetic characteristics are exceeded by the severity of brain damage, the individual will inevitably develop CP. This chapter is focused on the single-nucleotide polymorphisms that are tested for individual susceptibility to CP development in the fetus and neonatal patients." @default.
