- W3171316485 abstract "This chapter discusses the various methods to design the reconfigurable antennas, application of the reconfigurable antenna in multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems, and various MIMO performance indices related to these antennas. Antenna in MIMO systems consists of a number of transmitting and receiving antenna elements to improve the performance of the communication system. The transfer function of the antenna is related to the port isolation of the multiport MIMO system and for a generalized multi-antenna system channel. There are a number of isolation implementation methods which have been used to de-correlate fixed band or reconfigurable band antennas. Spatial diversity technique reduces the correlation between two adjacent antennas. Reconfigurable antennas in MIMO implementation are also characterized by the various parameters used for the non-reconfigurable MIMO antennas. There are different types of the reconfiguration technique which are realized using switching elements, artificial materials, and by changing the material property like magnetic materials." @default.
