- W3173575121 abstract "This paper presents findings from of a specialist project in which I attempted to find out if Black female who work in Children and Young People’s Services (CYPSs) feel the need to work harder in order to show to all that they are capable of fulfilling their managerial responsibilities. The findings highlight different forms of perceived discrimination. Social dominance theory was used as a conceptual framework to argue that equality and diversity initiatives have so far failed to address the salient role of institutional discrimination in the education sector. Instead, long-standing power structures have remained intact, thus, perpetuating prejudice at personal and organisational levels." @default.
