- W3177092933 abstract "Amylase, an enzyme produced from different biological sources especially from fungal origin is of great importance in various industries including desizing in textile industry. Routinely, in textile manufacturing, amylases are used to desize starch after weaving process at high temperature with high cost. So, there is a need to find alternate cost-effective and more stable amylases working at moderate temperatures. The current study explores the potential of amylase for textile desizing extracted from indigenous environmental Aspergillus tubingensis isolate. The submerged fermentation (SmF) condition was used to extract crude fungal amylase followed by its biochemical enzyme kinetic analysis. The fungal amylase was identified as a glucoamylase with km and Ea values of 2.75 mg/mL and 46.07 kJ/mol, respectively. Furthermore, the crude extract significantly performed enzymatic desizing of gray-cotton fabric by removing starch at 54 °C temperature within 12 h (TEGEWA scale 9). The overall results suggest that the extracted crude amylase can be a potential enzyme candidate for textile industries, which can be used at commercial level after further characterization." @default.
