- W3177204080 abstract "Purpose - This study is based on the issue of careerism criticizing the term career which constitutes a part of business life. Whether the demographic characteristics of employees make a difference in career perceptions and careerism tendency in the covid-19 pandemic has been investigated.Design/methodology/approach - In the research, relational scanning from quantitative method was adopted and the data that were the basis of the research were collected with a questionnaire. Careerism and Covid-19 career perception scale were used in the questionnaire. The sample consists of employees who are volunteering to participate in the survey during the Covid-19 pandemic process, affiliated with an institution in the districts of Basiskele, Kartepe and Izmit in Kocaeli province. Data were collected from 493 participants in the research.Findings - Explanatory factor analysis, reliability analysis, t-test, manova analysis were applied to the data obtained. The accepted significance level for the acceptability of the analysis was determined as 0.05. As a result of the research, it was determined that income made a difference in covid-19 career perception, marital status in careerism perception and covid-19 career perception.Discussion - Covid-19 career perception is thought to be a guide for short-term human resources planning. The demographic variables that provide the personal traits profile of the employees; It is hoped that determining whether careerism and covid-19 make a difference in career perception will contribute to human resources and business management." @default.
