- W3180692344 abstract "Within the German vocational education discourse personalized learning is demanded especially for persons with special educational needs. Many of them participate in transition courses, which are meant to provide a pathway into the dual system or aim at a vocational retraining. Assuming that these courses usually consist of very heterogeneous learners, this article deals with the question, how the teachers actually design personalized learning (instructions). The main focus will be on the teachers’ reception, adaption and design of corresponding concepts and instruments. For this a case study in a course of vocational rehabilitation is evaluated. This case study followed a designed-based-research approach and lead to the cooperative development and implementation of several instruments for the facilitation of individualized learning in a selected rehabilitation setting. Based on accompanying problem-centered interviews and group discussions during the design process, qualitative data were generated in order to reconstruct the personalized learning (instructions) in this practical field. In summary this article serves to illustrate the main findings of these reconstructions allowing to show the state of the art in developing and implementing instruments for facilitating individualized learning." @default.
