- W3186105800 abstract "ABSTRACT Objective: to identify the obstetric and neonatal factors that can influence the volume and cellularity of the umbilical cord and placenta. Method: it is a correlational study among obstetric and neonatal factors that influence the cellularity of the cord blood. The data are part of a research project approved by the Research Ethics Committee under protocol number 126/10. The convenience sample consisted of 40 women. The units of cord blood were collected and sent for laboratory processing, being checked volume and cell count. The units processed should be at least 7,5 x 10 8 of cells totally nucleated. Results: there was significant correlation between the initial cellularity with fetal weight. Conclusion: the identification of factors that may influence the cellularity SCUP can help nurses at the time of selection and capture of pregnant women with potential donation. Descriptors: Nursing; Stem Cells; Fetal Blood; Stem Cell Transplantation.
