- W3186239218 abstract "Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is posing major challenges to the health and thus survivability of the human population across the world. The spread of the contagion is fast, which calls for quick and efficient diagnosis of the coronavirus that helps in its control and treatment. In such a scenario, there is an urgent call for a rapid response from the world community of scientists for utilizing biomarkers/indicators as diagnostic tools for detection of the respiratory disease. Electrochemical (EC) biosensor is one of the techniques that use a ligand-specific electrochemical transducer and shows potential for the detection of bioanalytes such as tissues, cells, enzymes, antibodies, pathogens, and DNA. The current chapter focuses on the classification, working principle, and application of the EC sensors in the detection of coronavirus testing. This chapter further elaborated in detail fabricating materials, fabrication steps, as well as designing of electrochemical biosensors. The current and future prospects of the testing techniques in COVID-19 detection have also been included in the current chapter for a comprehensive understanding of readers." @default.
