- W3192128889 abstract "Abstract The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented effects that extend across many spheres: not only touching upon individual citizens, but also affecting companies, economies, and societies, within a very short period of time, given the magnitude of the changes. In this paper we review current approaches toward the handling of these effects, illustrating the central role of information and communication technology and artificial intelligence. We start with an introduction, and then discuss key levers for the handling of pandemic events as well as key actors, before moving to a consideration of the magnitude of potential beneficial effects of a more personalized approach to risk management, termed Pandemic Cohort Management. Then, we delve deeper into methods used to deal with economic and societal side effects, and conclude with a view toward future societies which do not need to sacrifice quality of life, in order to achieve not only resilience but ideally also a degree of antifragility." @default.
