Robotic milking machine allows milking per individual quarter and insures milk quality and animal health for high-yielding cows. Robotic milking system supports management decisions that are based on a large variety of data from individual cow. It allows accurate and timely animal traffic, through the automated sort gates between milking machine, feeding areas, resting, and special treatment zones. Automated alerts and alarms based on deviation of conductivity, SCC, yield and flow, milking intervals, and other parameters provide timely notification of potential risks and provide an opportunity to establish pro-active health monitoring protocols. The analysis of the robotic dairy management routines indicates the need for cross-disciplinary study of the robotic dairy systems. It is important to conduct a comparative analysis of the economic performance of robotic dairy farms, different management strategies in particular through an understanding of the cow behavior, and ability of the individual managers to accept new management paradigm. Further study of the efficiency of robotic dairy systems can be achieved through the establishment of dairy data collection centers that will accumulate individual cow data from different regions. Implementation of machine learning techniques will lead to the development of risk prediction models that would improve animal health and reduction of antibiotic usage on dairy farms." @default.
