- W3194880140 abstract "OBJECTIVE The volumetric-modulated arc therapy(VMAT)treatment plan for nasopharyngeal carcinoma(NPC)is complex and requires strict quality assurance to ensure that the treatment plan is implemented accurately.This study aimed to evaluate the feasibility of the online dose verification for NPC by using EDose software.METHODS Nineteen nasopharyngeal carcinoma patients undergoing VMAT from April to June 2019 in the First People’s Hospital of Foshan were selected in this study for online dose verification using EPID based EDose software.All 19 plans were conducted test of simulated online dose by using uniform and non-uniform phantoms,of which 6 plans were also conducted sensitivity analysis of dose verification for contour volume changes,and 12 plans were conducted actual clinical on-line dose verification.All simulation tests were carried out with three-dimensional dose gamma analysis and isocenter plane dose gamma analysis,and compared with the verification results of MatriXX.The phantom thickness were reduced by 1,3,5 and 8 mm in turn for the simulation of contour volume changes.RESULTS The simulation results of all 19 VMAT plans in uniform and non-uniform phantom were as follows:EDose 3 Ddoseγ(3%,3 mm)were(99.1±0.7)% and(98.6±1.0)%(P=0.003),respectively,andγ(2%,2 mm)were(92.2±3.0)% and(91.1±2.4)%(P=0.028),respectively,the measurement results were statistically significant.EDose isocenter plane dosesγ(3%,3 mm)were(98.2±0.9)% and(98.1±0.9)%(P=0.387),andγwere(2%,2 mm)(91.2±2.6)% and(90.1±2.5)%(P=0.186),Matrixx doseγ(3%,3 mm)were(98.9±0.7)% and(98.5±1.0)%(P=0.063),γwere(2%,2 mm)(92.4±1.6)% and(91.0±2.0)%(P=0.143),these results were not statistically significant.The results of 8 mm thickness for contour volume change showed that the EDose softwareγ(3%,3 mm)decreased by an average of 3.2%,γ(2%,2 mm)decreased by an average of 6.5% and the center point dose variation was(4.4±0.4)%.The corresponding results of Matrixx were 0.8%,1.8%and 1.5%,respectively.The online dose verification showed that the average passing rates of body structure wasγ(3%,3 mm)(98.5±0.6)% andγ(2%,2 mm)(93.7±1.3)%,the average passing rates of PTVNX70 structure wereγ(3%,3 mm)(96.8±1.6)% andγ(2%,2 mm)(92.6±3.4)%.CONCLUSIONS EDose software can accurately reconstruct the online dose for NPC VMAT plan,and sensitive to detect the volume change of the phantom.It can further carry out the actual clinical online dose verification study for NPC." @default.
