They can be used in combination within a centralized system and operate at higher stability and with less carbon deposition compared to low-temperature alcohol fuel cells. In this chapter, an overview of the results related to the catalysts used for low-temperature alcohol fuel cells is presented. Catalyst-related issues and challenges are detailed, and the solutions found for these issues are described; these involve the techniques of catalyst modification, investigation of novel catalysts, and the impacts of added materials. The intrinsic aspects studied are stability and performance, which are also compared for the case of hydrogen fuel utilization." @default.
