Las dataciones mediante series de desintegracion de U/Th (ICP-MS-MC) y los analisis de isotopos estables evidencian un cambio climatico rapido que coincide con el periodo frio Younger-Dryas (YD), intervalo registrado por la estalagmita SE-09-6, de 16 cm de longitud, con una edad de 12,9 ka en la base y 11,5 ka en el techo. Los datos de δ18O y δ13C oscilan entre -9.64 y -6.00 ‰ y -9.83 and -5.39 ‰, respectivamente. Ademas, las tendencias en los valores de δ13C permiten dividir el YD en un periodo mas seco al inicio y una tendencia a mayor disponibilidad hidrica al final. Los valores de δ18O apuntan claramente hacia una disminucion de la temperatura en consonancia con registros peninsulares y globales. La alta resolucion temporal alcanzada con los espeleotemas asi como la calidad de sus dataciones demuestran la gran utilidad de estos registros como indicadores de cambios climaticos abruptos. EnglishThe Seso Cave (Boltana, Huesca province) belongs to a small endokarstic system opened in Eocene limestones of the Tremp-Graus Basin (South Pyrenean Central Unit). It houses stalagmites recording climate variability during the end of Upper Pleistocene and Holocene. U/Th dating (ICP-MSMC, parallel ion-counting multicollector) and stable isotopic analysis reveal a rapid climate change coincident with the Younger Dryas cooling episode that has been recorded in the stalagmite SE-09-6 (16 cm long, 12.9 ka - 11.5 ka BP). δ18O and δ13C data range between -9.64 and -6.00 ‰ and -9.83 and -5.39 ‰, respectively. In addition, δ13C variations allow to distinguish a dry event at the onset of the YD and a tendency towards increased water availability towards the end of this period. δ 18O profile clearly indicate cold climate conditions in coherence with other regional and global records. The high-resolution data and robustness of the chronological framework attained working with speleothems make those archives excellent indicators of abrupt climate changes." @default.
