• W3199103859 abstract "Turbine engine noise is one of the problems that contribute to an environmental issue in noise pollution. The problem also one of the major concerns for the aircraft engine manufacturer and various approach has been taken to counter the issue. The strict airport noise regulation and the stringent standard noise control from authority made this issue more crucial in the present and become significant in aeroacoustics research. This paper surveys various types of nozzle application for the reduction of noise emission. The input from the literature survey determines the best design that can be used for the turbofan engine or turbojet engine with minimal effect on engine performance. Then, the discussion focuses on the Chevron design process and performance to look at the opportunity to improve the current approach. The suggestion that can be made to improve the efficiency of the chevron is by adding the vortex generator on the core nozzle. The vortex generator should be inserted at the location before the smaller area of the exhaust core. By adding the vortex generator, it will help them produce the streamwise vorticity hence will assist in mixing enhancement between the core and the bypass flow." @default.
