So that the quality of human resources supported by education must beimproved and adapted to the needs of employment. This research background is thehigh level of open unemployment with the latest vocational education in SlemanRegency. Whereas, vocational high school is a middle school specially preparesstudents to be able to enter the work field with variety programs offered.This research aims to determine factors that can affect the chances ofvocational high school graduates becoming unemployed by using logit regressionanalysis. The variables used in this research is gender, status of school origin,national exam scores, work experience,residence location, and ability in EnglishLanguage. This study uses primary data obtained by questionnaires distributed tovocational high school's alumnus who graduated in 2018 and 2019 using nonprobability sampling techniques. Respondents consisted of unemployed graduatesand employed graduates.The results of this research shows gender variable and school origin statushave a positive and significant effect on unemployment probabilities for vocationalschool's graduates. The variables of national exam scores, work experience andability in english language have a negative and significant effect on the probabilitesof vocational school graduate being unemployed. Meanwhile, the duration of workexperience and distance from residence to urban area don't have a significant effecton the probabilities of unemployment among vocational school's graduates. Thesuggestion of this research is vocational school's graduate must haveentrepreneurial spirit. Public schools adjust the skills taught to industry needs.Vocational school's teachers provide socialization about the importance of nationaltest scores and motivate students to improve national test scores. Students shouldequip themselves with work experience while they are still in school, besides thatthe school must help students to get work experience by collaborating withinstitutions or companies. Vocational school's graduate shouldn't consider thedistance from their residence to work location. And lastly, vocational students mustimprove their proficiency in English." @default.
