• W3200109898 abstract "The study investigated farmers’ willingness-to-accept adaptive/mitigation responses to climate change in Idemili-South Local Government Area of Anambra State, Nigeria. A total of eighty respondents were selected fromfour communities in the study area using a multistage random sampling technique. Data were collected using a well-structured questionnaire and personal interview. Descriptive statistics, a four 4-point likert scale rating and contingent valuation method (CVM) i.e. willingness-to-accept model were used in the assessment. The result revealed that majority (81.25%) of the respondents were male while (60%) fall between the age range of 45-56 years, and (60%) had a very high level awareness about climate change in the study area with a mean score of 3.48. The result from the Contingent valuation method showed that majority (55%) of the respondents are willing-to-accept ₦100,000 naira and above as compensation for a climate change adaptive/mitigation response program which depicted a supply curve graph suggesting the higher incentive in form of cash, given to farmers the more willing they are to adopt climate change adaptive/mitigation response program. It was also discovered that majority (37.5%) of the respondents practiced changing time of planting date as an adaptive/mitigation measure while (42.5%) indicated insufficient fund as their major problem in the study area. Therefore government, non-government organizations, industrialist, policy makers and so on should stimulate the needed assistance for crop farmers to adapt/mitigate to climate change in the study area." @default.
