- W3200301115 abstract "Why aren’t Americans among the healthiest people in the world? Why are some Americans so much healthier than others? What can be done to create opportunities for all Americans to live long and healthy lives? These questions prompted the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2008 to establish the Commission to Build a Healthier America, enlisting national leaders across sectors to find solutions outside of the medical care system for advancing the nation’s health.Wilhelmine Miller, Ph.D., Associate Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Commission to Build A Healthier America provided an overview of the Commission's findings and recommendations followed by a panel discussion moderated by the Star Tribune's heath editor Dave Hage.Wilhelmine Miller, MS, Ph.D., is an associate research professor in the Department of Health Policy, George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services. She serves as Associate Director of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Commission to Build a Healthier America, and coordinated the development of the Commission’s report and recommendations, Beyond Health Care: New Directions to a Healthier America.
