- W3200560741 abstract "This study employed the high-energy neutral-beam ion injection technique in orde to support the power of the magnetically confined plasmas in a tokamak reactor. Beside its potential role as a plasma fuelling mechanism, this technique would offer a considerable increase in the fusion power density, which is the result of the direct involvement of the injected ions with the fusion processes. In this way, the calculation and evaluation of these parameters affecting the energy multiplication factor become very important for D-6Li two-energy-component plasma. The results of this study indicate that the suitable injection energy of deuteron beam for doing this reaction is about 5 MeV. Moreover, the fusion energy multiplication factor $psi _{{^{textrm {D}{}^{6}textrm {Li}}} } $ for $E_{0} > 5$ MeV decreases with the increase in the deuteron initial energy $E_{0}$ . This factor is enhanced with an increase in the electron temperature at constant $E_{0}$ and the $psi _{{^{textrm {D}{ }^{6}textrm {Li}}}} $ increases slowly with the ion temperature. In order to produce effective electricity, $psi _{{^{textrm {D}{}^{6}textrm {Li}}}} simeq 12$ is also necessary. Besides, the life-time $tau _{f}$ of the fast ions should be more than the energy confinement time $tau _{E}$ , in order to obtain the full $psi _{{^{textrm {D}{}^{6}textrm {Li}}}} $ . The contribution of the high-energy part of the dispersion is also more important than the contribution of the low-energy part at energies that are lower than the peak in the $psi _{{^{textrm {D}{}^{6}textrm {Li}}}}$ -value. Furthermore, by using the “energy-clamping” methods, the amount of $psi _{{^{textrm {D}{ }^{6}textrm {Li}}}} $ is increased by about 10% per decade of electron density and is also being improved for the same $T_{e}$ . In sum, this factor is decreased because of the existence of the impurity ions, the charge exchange, and the trapped electron losses under normal conditions." @default.
