- W3201021492 abstract "In this study Al2030 alloy with 12 wt% of B 4 C particles reinforced composites were produced using stir cast method. Al2030 alloy with 12 wt% of B 4 C composites were studied for microstructural characteristics using SEM/EDS and XRD analysis. The prepared Al2030 alloy with 12 wt% of B 4 C composites were exhibited uniform distribution of parts in Al2030 alloy matrix as revealed by SEM micrographs. EDS and XRD patterns indicated presence of reinforcement in the form of B and C elements by EDS spectrum and B 4 C phase by XRD patterns in the Al2030 alloy matrix. Further, wear behaviour of Al2030 alloy and composites were analysed using pin on disc machine by varying load and speed. The composites with B 4 C particles were shown superior wear resistance properties as compared to base Al2030 material. Various wear mechanisms were studied with wear worn surface analysis obtained after wear tests." @default.
