- W3202292102 abstract "A series of tetrathiotungstate (WS42–) intercalated NiAl layered double hydroxides (LDHs) were synthesized by an ion exchange method. The effects of synthesis conditions on the structure of LDHs were investigated. It is found that the exchange under flowing N2 is less favorable than under static N2, because the former could induce the reaction between (NH4)2WS4 and nickel nitrate, leading to the loss of available WS42– anions and hence the incomplete exchange. The crystallinity of WS42– intercalated LDHs is mainly dependent on the initial pH value and exchange temperature. More ordered layered structure can be achieved at alkaline pH values due to the formation of polymerized thiotungstate anions under acidic pH values. The interlayer distance of LDHs is mainly affected by the exchange temperature and drying temperature. Ordered and pure WS42– intercalated NiAl LDHs with Ni/Al ratio from 1 to 3 can be synthesized under static N2 with initial pH of 8, exchange temperature of 60 °C for 18 h and drying at 60 °C." @default.
