- W3203204107 abstract "Biometrics are attracting widespread interest due to the increasing need for systems security everywhere. Researchers contributed to this field by applying various biometric modalities such fingerprint, face and iris recognition. In this chapter, a new recognition biometric system based on ECG signal is proposed. One of the main issues that could face the use of ECG as a biometric trait is its variability over time. Therefore, in this study, the possibility theory is introduced to take into account the information alteration caused by undesired factors and mainly by the variation of the signal. It is important to mention that, until now, a biometric system based on possibility modeling approach has only been applied for few modalities like iris and fingerprint. This chapter presents the first work that investigates its efficiency to classify ECG signals. The proposed method is applied on signals taken from the PTB database provided by the PhysioBank archives. A pre-processing step is presented, then features are extracted based on the AC/DCT method.After features transition to the possibility space, a fusion methodology, at the classification level, is performed to improve the system efficiency. For the evaluation of the proposed system, experiments show significant results, the area under curve deducted from the ROC curve has the value of 0.96, an equal error rate of 6.67% which are superior to some related works,the accuracy rate achieve a 93.22% as well a 93.12% for sensitivity rate and 93.32% for specificity rate." @default.
