Estudio transversal mediante encuesta en formato electronico a los diferentes especialistas implicados (cirujanos bariatricos, ginecologos y comadronas). Resultados: existe un porcentaje de pacientes operadas de cirugia bariatrica que no utiliza ningun metodo anticonceptivo (46%). Despues de la cirugia, se produce un descenso importante de usuarias de anticonceptivos orales (54% antes de la cirugia y 6% despues). La mayoria de pacientes no recibieron asesoramiento contraceptivo (78%). Gran parte de profesionales sanitarios coincidian en que no habian recibido una correcta formacion al respeto (70%). Conclusiones: el estudio pone de manifiesto que el asesoramiento anticonceptivo a las pacientes sometidas a cirugia bariatrica puede ser insuficiente e inadecuado. El manejo multidisciplinario con el fin de conseguir un buen asesoramiento reproductivo y contraceptivo en este grupo de mujeres previo a la cirugia, basado en protocolos bien definidos y una formacion adecuada es una opcion a considerar. EnglishObjectives: To determine the amount information received about contraception in patients in childbearing age who underwent bariatric surgery and to assess the degree of knowledge of the implicated professionals about contraceptive counselling in these patients. Material and methods: Retrospective descriptive in terms of a telephonic survey of patients in childbearing age who underwent bariatric surgery in our center between January 2018 and December 2019. Cross sectional descriptive study consisting in a survey in electronic format answered by the implicated health workers. Results: There is an amount of patients undergoing bariatric surgery who do not use any contraceptive method (46%). After surgery, there has been a significant decrease in oral contraceptive use (54% before surgery and 6% after surgery). The majority of patients did not receive contraceptive counseling (78%). A large part of health professionals agreed that they had not received correct training in this regard (70%). Conclusions: Patients in childbearing age who underwent bariatric surgery receive insufficient or inadequate information about contraception. Multidisciplinary management about contraception based on validated guidelines in this population is necessary in order to improve reproductive and contraceptive outcomes." @default.
