This reality seems increasingly clear during the occupation of Japan and the Netherlands, the madrasah is experiencing a very significant impact. Using the analysis of the literature, the following description will try to describe the condition of madrasah pre independence. At the time of Netherlands madrasah is considered a barrier to the enemy while the Government in regard to the colonial and mission of Cristiant. While at the time Japan, Japan took place between mutualisme Symbiosis and Muslims, Japan wants so that Indonesia could help them in the face of war in the East Asian region, while Muslims want madrasah fixed exist. As for the reaction of the Muslims against the educational policy in the era of Netherlands and Japan are defensive (avoiding as far as possible the political influence of the Netherlands East Indies against the Islamic education system) and progressive (efforts to achieve equality and alignment either from the angle of institutional as well as curriculum).
