- W3204308933 abstract "Metals are the material of choice for building pipelines, oil tanks, distillation towers, heat exchangers, etc. However, such materials are susceptible to corrosion triggered by several environmental conditions like electrolyte and oxygen etc. Sodium chloride is an important part of drilling fluids in well-drilling during oil and gas exploration. However, sodium chloride is an aggressive ionic solution that reduces metals' workability, corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, and weldability behaviors. A well-established strategy for corrosion protection is the use of corrosion inhibitors. Therefore in this chapter we will address the corrosion inhibitors that were used for different metals and alloys in neutral media. Knowing the optimum efficiency of corrosion inhibition of a particular corrosion inhibitor in a given corrosive condition is crucial in selecting the most suitable compound as a corrosion inhibitor." @default.
