- W3204456184 abstract "Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus/Acanthopanax senticosus), also known as Siberian ginseng, is an adaptogenic herb originating from North America with a history of use in folk and traditional Chinese medicine. It may be beneficial for allergic rhinitis, peripheral edema, hyperlipidemia, dyslipidemia, male infertility, osteoporosis, stroke recovery, depression, bipolar disorder, cognitive performance, hangover, athletic performance, immune function, familial Mediterranean fever, upper respiratory infection, pneumonia, dysentery, and chemotherapy-suppressed immune function. Eleuthero has performance-enhancing and immunostimulant properties. This chapter examines some of the scientific research conducted on eleuthero, both alone and in combination formulas, for treating numerous health conditions. It summarizes results from several human studies of eleuthero’s use in treating allergic, cardiovascular, cardiometabolic, urogenital, musculoskeletal, neurological, and psychiatric disorders, among others. Finally, the chapter presents a list of eleuthero’s Active Constituents, different Commonly Used Preparations and Dosage, and a Section on “Safety and Precaution” that examines side effects, toxicity, and disease and drug interactions." @default.
