- W3204482011 abstract "In the first experiment described in this chapter, the inquiry into the proposed association of introversion with longer OR habituation rates and greater sensory sensitivity was pursued by observing the OR habituation rate to chromatic stimuli and to neutral and affective words, stimuli that have previously been linked to behavioral differences between introverts and extroverts. To the extent that the autonomic components of the OR considered in the present work reflect activity in the corti-coreticular system, the longer OR habituation rates to visual stimuli consistently manifested by the introverts support Eysenck’s proposal linking differences in extroversion to differences in level of activity of the reticular system. The longer OR habituation rates consistently shown by the introverts support the conclusion that introverts are differentiated from extroverts by more persistent activity of the corti-coreticular system in its response to repetitive presentation of visual stimulation." @default.
