• W3204702590 abstract "본고는 <원천강본풀이>의 각편 중 하나인 조술생본의 서사적 특징과 의미를 살 피는 것을 목적으로 한다. 특수본풀이로 분류되는 <원천강본풀이>는 단 두 편의 각편만이 존재한다. 문제는 지금 남아있는 두 편의 각편이 매우 이질적이라는 점이 다. 박봉춘본이 <구복여행> 설화와 유사하게 전개되며 주인공 오날이가 옥황의 신 녀로 좌정하는 내용이라면, 조술생본은 <아기장수> 전설과 유사하게 전개되면서 주인공 원천강이 심방으로 자리하게 되는 내용이다. 두 각편은 서로 다른 지향점을 갖기 때문에 하나의 분석틀 안에 넣기 어려웠고, 이로 인해 대다수의 연구자들은 자연스럽게 보다 서사가 탄탄한 박봉춘본을 선본으로 삼아 연구를 진행하게 된다. 조술생본은 자연스럽게 연구와 향유의 자장 안에서 이탈하게 된 것이다. 하지만 조술생본 역시 유의미한 내용으로 구성되어 있음에 주목할 필요가 있다. 특히 <원천강본풀이>가 심방들 자신의 입무과정에 대해 설명하는 역할을 한다는 것에 초점을 맞추면 조술생본이 더욱 적합한 각편이 된다. 조술생은 <원천강본풀이> 서사를 자신의 삶의 궤적과 유사하게 형상화한다. 자신을 떠난 남편, 그리고 삶을 영위하기 위해 무업에 뛰어들 수밖에 없었던 자신의 처지와 <원천강본풀이> 의 원천강을 동일시하여 파악한 것이다. 사람들에게 천시 받는 심방이라는 직업, 하 지만 여성의 몸으로 어찌 보면 유일한 생계 수단이 될 수 있는 직업이라는 양가적 감정이 <원천강본풀이> 서사 안에 모두 담겨 있다고 하겠다. 이렇게 조술생본은 심방의 자기서사로 자리하게 된다. 다만 이와 같이 심방 개인 의 삶에 초점이 맞춰지게 되면서 조술생본은 심방 전체의 입무과정을 다루는 대표 성을 상실하고 원활히 전승이 되지 못한 것으로 추론된다. 하지만 서사무가의 다양 한 변이 요인에 있어 심방 자신의 ‘처지’와 ‘감정’ 역시 하나의 주요한 요소가 될 수 있음을 확인할 수 있다는 점에서 <원천강본풀이>는 매우 중요한 자료로 평가할 수 있을 것이다." @default.
