- W3204922937 abstract "Abstract Polyurethanes (PUs) are considered important materials that have been widely applied in different fields based on their unique properties and structure. PUs have excellent features in terms of chemical and physical properties. To improve the properties of PUs and increase their applicability, modification and engineering of different raw materials can be an ideal route. Among different ways, modification of PUs by various methods can produce different kinds of interesting PUs. Despite applicability, PUs also face some drawbacks that can be addressed by synthesizing PU composites with excellent physical, chemical, and hydrolytic features. Fabrication of PUCs is based on the incorporation of different types of materials with PUs. One of the interesting materials to incorporate with waterborne PU is nanomaterials (NMs). NMs have exclusive properties, such as high chemical and physical stability, high surface area, high adsorption capacity, and high conductivity, making them prodigious materials for application in various fields. PU nanocomposites are applicable in different fields, especially as electrode materials. Due to desirable characteristics, they have been widely applied to determine and sense different compounds and materials. This chapter focuses on PUs and their unique properties, synthesis approaches, composition synthesis approaches, and application in different fields. We hope that this chapter can help researchers open new doors to better understand PUs, their specific properties, and most importantly, their vast applications in different fields." @default.
