- W3204995134 abstract "Phytoremediation offers low-cost soil cleaning and elemental recovery. Moreover, a larger amount of biomass containing a mixture of lignin, organic substances, cellulose, and hemicellulose containing substantial levels of calorific values is also helpful to generate a significant profit by proper utilization of these substances for various purposes. Usually, the plants used for phytoremediation have high levels of nitrogen and phosphorus and produce good weight of biomass that can be used for composting, and to produce bioenergy and various important byproducts. All over the world, land prices associated with urban areas are continuously increasing, and this could be a motivating force to land developers to remediate contaminated sites under the planning system (UK Government, 2015). In this sense, green, sustainable, and economically viable phytoremediation is attracting the attention of the general public. Besides its effectiveness at reducing environmental pollution, many reasons could explain the generally accepted public perception of phytoremediation as a sustainable practice for example, habitat restoration, the creation of greener places, landscaping values, and the increase in flora and faunal biodiversity. Additionally, positive publicity, low secondary waste, preservation of substrate fertility, and reduced costs are also further advantages of phytoremediation compared to conventional methods" @default.
