- W3205928636 abstract "Tetracycline was removed by the photocatalytic process. To this end, the improved photocatalyst of TiO2/N/S was synthesized and utilized. The process was performed in a bench-scale reactor and the catalyst was activated by ultraviolet irradiation. The catalyst was synthesized by the sol-gel method with the size of ∼45 nm and characterized by TEM, SEM, BET, XRD, and EDS analyses. The effective parameters of tetracycline initial concentration, catalyst dosage, initial pH, and process time were statistically optimized by Design Expert software. The concentration of tetracycline was monitored by HPLC analysis and the removal efficiency was used to optimize the process. The results showed that in the optimum condition of [Cat.] = 1.3 g/L, pH = 5.7, [Tet.] = 25 mg/L, and t = 62 min, the process can remove tetracycline by ∼92%. The kinetic study of the process was also performed and the data were fitted by the pseudo-first-order kinetic model. Finally, the performance of the catalyst in the real wastewater treatment was evaluated and the results showed the process can remove tetracycline in hospital wastewater by ∼79%." @default.
