- W3206670986 abstract "• Designing light harvesting systems is an active field of research in the recent time. • We herein explored photovoltaic performance of ZnSeQD-Fullerene composite system. • Composite has favorable band energy alignment for efficient charge separation. • The maximum PCE value of our studied systems is 18.42%. By using density-functional tight-binding method we herein explored the electronic structure of ZnSeQD-Fullerene nanocomposite system. Our objective is to understand the suitability of using this nanocomposite as building blocks for photovoltaic devices. We have shown that this composite has favorable band energy alignment for efficient charge separation and delayed electron-hole recombination. We have also calculated the photovoltaic efficiencies of ZnSeQD-Fullerene nanocomposite for ZnSe QDs of different sizes. The photovoltaic efficiency depends on the size of ZnSe QDs and can attain the maximum value of 18%." @default.
