- W3207364857 abstract "Fluidic oscillators (FOs) containing no moving parts have received extensive attention in recent decades. Applications with FOs in some complex conditions are generally characterized by a high-speed jet of particle-laden flow that periodically switches between two parallel channels. This oscillating flow makes FOs prone to erosion. Using the CFD method, this study investigated the dynamic erosion behavior coupled with periodic oscillating jets. Three primary locations of erosion were observed, namely, in the vicinities of the nozzle, splitter, and vents. The effects of flow rate, particle size, and solid content on erosion were evaluated. It was found that the location of maximum erosion did not remain same. The amount of erosion in the splitter and vents fluctuated cyclically due to the periodic oscillation of the supply jet. Additional erosion occurred during the start-up process of the vertical feedback oscillator, whereas the curved feedback oscillator showed better performance in this respect." @default.
