The modern Russian and international requirements to operators of airfields and aircraft imply the development and use (by fixed base operators) of the Flight Safety Management System (FSMS), which represents a dynamic risk management system based on the principles of the Quality Management System (QMS). In terms of flights safety risk management, both airfield and aircraft operators need to take into account hazards related to the condition of airfield pavements, assess and, if needed, minimize the respective flight safety risks. Currently, there are almost no adapted models to assess changes in the irregularities of artificial airfield pavements in the Far North and Arctic, which would make it possible to assess their integrated impact on aircraft operated in the regions of extreme climatic conditions. In this connection, the conducted review and analysis of the existing methods and algorithms for the assessment of airfield irregularities provided a new view of the problem of flight safety maintenance in the areas of airfields located in the Far North and Arctic. Based on this, we determined the most significant hazards, which may damage aircraft, and provide recommendations on how to reduce the negative impact of airfield pavement condition on aircraft operation." @default.
