- W3208012344 abstract "Cold-formed steel (CFS) material availability in infrastructure development is undoubted. Its lightweight, fast, and easy process than wood or hot-rolled steel materials are the main reasons consumers use this material. Besides, its strength and stiffness are superior to the rest. However, CFS is susceptible to failure pattern in local buckling caused by loads, section shape, profile usage, and rod effective length. This study aimed to obtain the compressive strength, axial deformation, and failure pattern on C75.75 profile CFS with length variations and utilizing stiffener ratio on the rod center. Also, the profile was assembled in double channel back-to-back sectional shape. The results showed that higher stiffener usage on compression member length meant larger compressive strength. Axial deformation became higher following shorter compression member and higher stiffener ratio on compression member. The results also exhibited that failure patterns of flexural buckling and flexural-torsional buckling were caused by the inability of compression member to receive load and the influence of off-centric load." @default.
