- W3208080929 abstract "An amine functionalized metal-organic framework (MOF), ([Zn(L*)(OBA)]. DMF) (L*=5,6-dipyridin-4-yl-1,2,3,4 tetrahydropyrazine, OBA= 4,4′-oxybisbenzoic acid) (TMU-60), used for chromium ion sensing in aqueous solution. To achieve the optimal structure for the purpose and to evaluate the effect of size on the sensing performance, in addition to solvothermal method the TMU-60 nano-sample was prepared by ultrasonic-assisted synthetic methods. The structure of the nano TMU-60 was described by FT-IR (Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy), SEM (scanning electron microscopy), and XRD (X-ray powder diffraction). Then, the performance of bulk and optimized nano TMU-60 were studied as sensors of heavy metal (HM) ions such as Pb2+, Hg2+, Cu2+, Cd2+, Cr2+, Ni2+ and Cr3+. Based on the results, it was found that TMU-60 has a remarkable potential for selective detection of Cr3+ ions in attendance of other HM cations in an aqueous solution. The detection limit for Cr3+ in water was 0.89 nM (Ksv = 2 × 106) for nano TMU-60 which was the best result among other reported MOFs. Finally, we found that amine is an effective function for Cr3+ sensing and size of the structure has a significant impact on its sensing performance." @default.
