- W3208278869 abstract "The relative geometry of the anchors and the emitter plays an important role in the estimation accuracy of the emitter location. In this article, it is assumed that there are a number of anchors with known location in a 2-D wireless network. Each anchor either measures the distance between itself and the emitter or it measures the look angle to the emitter. Knowing the location of the anchors, the emitter location can be estimated using these noisy measurements. It is assumed that one wants to add a number of new anchors to this network to improve the accuracy of estimating the emitter location. In this article, we have used the frame theory to obtain an algorithm which proposes the optimum location of the new anchors in the network. The optimization criterion for anchors placement is maximizing the Fisher information matrix determinant, which is equivalent to minimizing the trace of the Cramér–Rao lower bound in our assumed problem. Numerical simulations confirm the ability of the proposed algorithm to find the optimal location for new anchors." @default.
