- W3208296895 abstract "Nanotechnology has opened the doors to a new era of technology that may affect the entire planet. However, manipulating nanomaterials at the nanoscale has given rise to a series of concerns about risks, in general, link human health and environment. The field of medicine has demonstrated the highest rate of publishing on nanotechnology and presented the most notable discoveries and uses for it. As different fields develop and broaden to accommodate nanotechnology, it is up to the system of science to be more caution and oversee the mechanism and implantation of this important type of innovating materials, since the rich will always be rich. The System of Law will also need to be very observant of the growth of innovative nanotechnology innovation. Based on these concerns and issues of risk, we aim to address nano-products for biomedical applications and verify if they have been a topic of research and scientific reports. Besides this, we study the main risks and search for the existence of safety regulations that may apply to these products. In our research, we present some of the new advances in biomedical nanotechnology through a systematic review of scientific perspectives of this particular field of application, as well as the risks and regulations. In closing, we briefly discuss autoregulation and the possibility of using Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI) to solve questions. Luhmann's Systems Theory served as the theoretical matrix for this chapter. This theory has allowed us to form a new scientific style that is more apt for understanding complex contemporary societies, according to the systemic-functionalist perspective." @default.
