Hypotheses stemming from the proposed model were stated. A total of 297 subjects from various organizations in 9 regions of the USA participated in the study. Collected data were analyzed through path modeling, using SmartPLS 3.0. The results indicated that IoT awareness can positively influence users’ knowledge of IoT privacy and security. The users’ knowledge of IoT privacy and security can positively influence users’ IoT trust and subsequently, the users’ IoT trust can positively influence continued intention to use IoT. Additionally, IoT privacy knowledge, IoT security knowledge, and IoT trust were found to be the mediating variables in the proposed model.
