- W3208442098 abstract "This chapter explores the different routes of tomato wastes conversion through thermochemical techniques, including pyrolysis, combustion, gasification, and hydrothermal carbonization. The huge amounts of generated tomato waste as well as the few researches dealing with their thermochemical degradation have motivated this review achievement. The characterization of the tomato residues show their suitability for dry and wet thermal processes. Several techniques are currently available worldwide while others require significant improvements to be adapted to the heterogeneous tomato composition. These techniques include the fuel preparation, the flue gas cleaning systems, and the possibility of co-conversion with other solid fuels. These improvements will offer a decision support to develop a recovery process in biofuel, biogas and biochar production with meeting both environmental and economic requirements." @default.
