- W3210696231 abstract "This article presents a tool enabling the physical diagnosis of a drinking water supply network operating in a quasi dynamic mode (extended period simulation). The method adopted pays particular attention to the positioning, nature and number of measurements. The hydraulic models which solve the classic equations of mass and energy conservation pre-suppose good knowledge of the roughness of the pipes and of consumption. They enable calculation of the flows at each edge and of the heads at each node. Regarding the estimation of the parameters of the model, given the few measurements available, simplifications must be made to reduce the number of unknowns. One and the same roughness may be attributed to a class of edge of the same age and of the same material, and a mean demand may be attributed to a given type of consumer, for example a home owner or an industrialist. The problem to be solved is a non linear least squares problem with constraints. The solving of this inverse problem depends very much on the points of measurement and on the proper restitution of the hydraulic parameters. To overcome this difficulty, we propose selecting the set of measurements to minimise the influence of errors of measurement on the estimation of the state vector, while ensuring the observability of the network. A solution is found using a greedy algorithm, which has the advantage of being in polynomial time." @default.
