- W3211359670 abstract "Anesthesia is a necessary process for undergoing surgery and it consist of hypnosis, nociception, and neuromuscular blockade. Inadequate drug dosage would cause severe consequences on both intraoperative and postoperative. The automatic control of anesthesia is to manipulate the dosage and concentration of various anesthetic drug based on the subjects’ clinical and physiological signal. Although the inter-individual variation presented among the subjects, researchers could still adopt analysis techniques to develop useful indices from the vital signs or use algorithms to filter out noises which were initially contained in the raw data. Various researches in the control of hypnosis, analgesia, and muscle relaxation are being presented. Furthermore, an overall seven-stage automatic control scheme is proposed for fulfilling automatic control of anesthesia. Finally, the most conducted anesthesia agent in the study of automatic control of anesthesia (i.e., propofol) are being introduced to its adverse effects, side effects, and its comparison to other anesthetic agents are also presented." @default.
