- W3212516428 abstract "Acute and chronic postoperative pain have detrimental effects on patient, in which acute pain could slow the recovery phase while chronic pain decrease patient’ functional status and quality of life. Combined general and regional anesthesia are often used to facilitate surgery. The addition of regional anesthesia will reduce the requirement of general anesthetic agents. The regional technique provides anesthesia-analgesia during and after surgery. A regional technique continued into the postoperative period offers postoperative analgesia, decreased opioid consumption, and reduction in PONV. Ultrasound-guided Pecs II block is an easy, fast-acting, and reliable superficial block. It is a simple alternative to “gold standard” TEA and TPVB for breast surgery. It can be used as a sole anesthesia agent, an analgesia component of balanced anesthesia or postoperative rescue analgesia. Surgical procedures involving lateral thoracic area can be facilitated by ultrasound-guided Pecs II block and extension of block coverage can be achieved by combining Pecs block with other regional techniques." @default.
