• W3213831169 abstract "(TiO2), (CeO2) films and their nanocomposites (TiO2)1-x (CeO2)x were deposited at ratios of x (0.2,0.4,0.6,0.8wt) on the glass substrates using Pulse Laser Deposition technique (PLD). Many growth parameters have been considered to specify the optimum condition, namely substrate temperature (50°C), laser energy (700) mJ and the number of laser shots was 500 pulses. Thin films structures were determined by x-ray diffraction (XRD). The XRD analysis shows that CeO2 has a cubic structure with average crystal size (36.6nm) while TiO2 has tetragonal structure about (33.4 nm) in crystallite size and reveals that they are free from impurities. Morphology of the synthesized nanocomposites was confirmed by Field-Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FE-SEM) analysis, in which the Synthesized nanomaterials were spherically well connected with each other forming as cauliflower -like shape with particle sizes ranging from 35-50nm. The elemental composition was confirmed by EDS. UV-vis spectrophotometer measurements show the optical absorption edge for CeO2 thin films at about 400 nm and shifted toward lower wavelength with increasing the TiO2 ratio, The energy gap of the nanocomposite showed an increase from 3.05 eV to 3.5 eV with increasing the proportion of TiO2 from 0.2 to 0.8, respectively." @default.
