The problem of this study centered on the level of youth unemployment in Nigeria and the inability of the employable ones to perform to the utmost capacity required of them by their employers which is a big challenge for the vision for technical vocational education. This is an empirical study with two research questions as well as two hypotheses. Data for the study was generated from the primary source as the questionnaire was the major instrument used to generate the data. The population is infinite and the Cochran’s mathematical formula was used. A total of 196 questionnaires were sent out and 164 were returned duly completed. The regression statistical technique was used for the analysis of the generated data with the aid of statistical package for social sciences (SPSS) 20.0 version. The findings showed that there is a significant relationship between technical vocational education and employee capacity to perform; and that technical vocational education relates to job creation. The study concluded that in order to eliminate or minimize unemployment in Nigeria, a greater attention must be placed on TVE for there can be no successful job initiative without an accessible and reliable TVE program for the youths. Based on the findings, the study recommends that the involvement of major Nigerian stakeholders, complemented by partnerships with international agencies, NGOs, Foundations, (etc.) will be essential if the goals and potentials of Nigerians are to be realized using TVE for job and employment creation." @default.
