Based on a chamber heating furnace with an intermediate radiator in a steel plant a physical model with intermediate radiators was established. In this study, a transient 3-D mathematical combustion model has been developed to simulate the temperature distribution in the furnace. The research results show that the addition of the directional radiator changes the flow in the combustion chamber of the furnace body and the angle coefficient of the furnace wall to the slab solid radiation, and enhances the radiant heat transfer intensity of the slab surface and the flue gas combustion temperature from the angle of gas radiation and solid radiation. The flue gas combustion temperature is reduced by about 21 K, the CO mass fraction reduced about 85%." @default.
