- W3216007434 abstract "We study the non-reciprocal optical transmission in a cavity optomagnonic system, where a ferromagnetic sphere can support both the whispering gallery modes (WGMs) for photons and the magnetostatic modes for magnons. Our scheme is based on the non-reciprocal Brillouin light scattering, where the WGMs are unidirectionally coupled to the Kittel mode with a nonzero z component of the total angular momentum. We show that a weak probe field can be transmitted or amplified in a given propagation direction, but completely absorbed in the opposite direction. The present work may provide an alternative method for the development of chiral optical devices." @default.
